Job Description

The John McGivney Children's Centre provides family-centered paediatric therapy services in the Windsor-Essex County community, enriching the lives of children and youth with special needs by helping them reach their full potential. Reporting to the Autism Supervisor, the Instructor Therapist will work directly with children with Autism delivering programming at the Entry to School Program.

The Instructor Therapist (IT) will work to ensure that the clients' goals and outcomes are being achieved through implementing lesson plans, following defined behavioural strategies, and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.

Qualifications:

The qualified candidate will have a College diploma in Autism and Behavioural Sciences.

Experience working with children with Autism and Applied Behavioural Analysis, and experience in an early childhood setting are definite assets.

The candidate should have experience working in a high energy, fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility to adapt to change quickly and easily. The candidate must have an understanding of early childhood development and comfort in appropriately engaging young children in play. Current first aid and CPR are required.

The candidate must be able to work successfully in a family-centred, and team environment.

The qualified candidate must have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; must be able to work independently, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a physically demanding environment. They must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job. The candidate must be available to work flexible hours, as required. French Language Proficiency is an asset.
