Since 1949, TVCC has been working with children and youth to help them reach their full potential. Today, a wide range of services and supports are provided for young people with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders to support them in attaining the best available quality of life and health. In partnership with local and regional agencies, TVCC annually serves more than 11,000 children, youth and their families from birth to age 19 across Southwestern Ontario in over 700 locations.

We are recruiting for two (2) regular, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Instructor Therapists in Autism & Behavioural Services. The designated office for these positions is Chatham. The catchment area includes Sarnia-Lambton and Chatham-Kent counties. These positions are expected to begin November 2025.

We will also consider filling this vacancy with an Instructor Therapist Intern, working toward the qualifications for the Instructor Therapist position. The Intern position is expected to begin in November 2025 and end in August 2026 with the possibility of moving into the Instructor Therapist vacancy upon meeting the qualifications for that position.

Regular travel within this geographic area may be required. A flexible work schedule may be required, including some evening and weekend work.

Responsibilities:Instructor Therapist:

Under clinical supervision provided by TVCC Autism Services, the successful candidate will:

Provide direct ABA treatment and support services to children and youth with ASD individually and in groups in a variety of environments (e.g., community-based and TVCC locations) Contribute to treatment planning and prepare treatment material for clients, adhering to evidence-based methods Collect data and participate in the evaluation of the efficacy of teaching Provide education, mentoring and training to parents and caregivers so they can implement behaviour analytic strategies as per their child's Behaviour Plan Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals involved with clients on your caseload
Instructor Therapist Intern:

Successful candidates will be required to complete Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) certification during the first 6-months of employment and by the end of the six month period be qualified for and move into an available Instructor Therapist position.

Under the guidance of a Behaviour Analyst and with support from Instructor Therapists, the successful candidates will:

Provide ABA support services to children and youth with ASD individually and in groups in a variety of environments (e.g., community-based and TVCC locations, and client homes) Assist with the treatment planning and preparation of materials and supplies for clients, adhering to evidence-based methods Assist in collecting data and participate in the evaluation of the efficacy of teaching Interact with families and children/youth during the activities prompting as required, providing reinforcement as needed, recording data as instructed, assisting parents with instructions, and other assigned tasks as they arise Prepare materials for the activities; including photocopying, laminating, collecting and arranging materials, setting up the room including equipment and technology supports

Qualifications:



Instructor Therapist:



College diploma or undergraduate degree in a related field Autism and Behavioural Sciences Graduate Certificate, Registered Behavior Technician, or equivalent

Instructor Therapist Intern:



Minimum two-year college diploma or undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g. ECE, DSW, CYW, etc.)

General Qualifications:



Experience working with children with Autism and knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis Understanding of child development, including youth and comfort in appropriately engaging young children and teens Experience working in a high-energy, fast-paced team environment requiring flexibility to adapt to change quickly and easily Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to receive and incorporate feedback; and advanced self-reflection skills are required Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS 365 A valid Ontario driver's licence and regular access to a reliable personal vehicle Current certification in First Aid and CPR Proficiency in the French language would be considered an asset
