ABA Instructor Therapist - Part Time



Job Summary



Nexus ABA Therapy provides of in home aba therapy in Simcoe County and cities across Ontario. We are looking for skilled Instructor Therapists to provide ABA/IBI services to children in the home day care and school setting. Candidates are responsible for implementing treatment plans for preschool and school age children, and adolescents (ages 0-18) under Clinical supervision.

Rate: $30.00 per hour

Day time sessions are a minimum of 3 hrs in duration from 9-12 or 1-4 pm

After school sessions are a minimum of 2 hrs from 4:30-6:30 pm

Responsibilities

:

Provide Intensive Behavioural Intervention (IBI) Implement the ABA / IBI program related to the needs and goals of the client under clinical supervision Support client goals through implementing strategies and monitoring progress. Data Collection and communication with Clinical Supervisor Maintain a good rapport with the interdisciplinary team, including the family. Create and maintain a healthy and positive environment for the client to promote progress. Provide consultation and education to the family regarding the client's needs and goals. Create optimal opportunities for learning by including the family into the therapy sessions. Candidates must adhere to the policies and procedures of the company. Liaising with parents on an ongoing basis Working at the clients' homes, daycare or school Prepare and organize the teaching environment and materials Follow prescribed programs as written and seek consultation as needed Assess and monitor individual children's skills, abilities, interests, strengths, and needs on a daily basis Maintain regular communications with parents and family members as required by Senior Therapist and/or Clinical Supervisor Collaborate with Senior Therapist / Clinical Supervisor regarding programming and child's progress

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications



A College Diploma or University Degree related to Behavioural Science, Psychology, or Early Childhood Development Minimum 1-year experience working as Instructor Therapist with young children who have been diagnosed with Autism; Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorder Experience in delivering Applied Behaviour Analysis Knowledge of early childhood development and neurodevelopment variations Ability to manage behaviour of children Strong communication skills (verbal and written) Organizational and time management skills Flexibility to work regular business hours, some evenings and Saturdays Eager to learn and accept feedback for continuous improvement Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate professionally with parents/guardians Independent, self motivated, yet willing to accept guidance and feedback from Supervisors. Valid Drivers License and access to vehicle during working hours to travel to clients' homes Available to work during the day, evenings, and optional weekends. Vulnerable Sectors Check
