Faculty in the psychiatric nursing program teach theory classes both in both on-campus and online learning environments, as well as facilitate lab/simulation learning and learning in clinical practice education settings in Saskatoon. This position is based at the Saskatoon campus; some travel may be required.

Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)
1. Teach, coach and supervise nursing students in classroom, lab and mental health clinical settings.
2. Evaluate student progress and provide feedback.
3. Participate in the development, maintenance and revision of curriculum.
4. Work closely with the Psychiatric Nursing Program Head and other project team members.
5. Participate in program, Campus, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, industry and professional or other stakeholder activities.
6. Travel may be required.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
1. Baccalaureate Degree in Psychiatric Nursing, Nursing, or a Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing with a degree in a related field.
2. Eligible for registration with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan and College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan.
3. Minimum of three years recent and relevant clinical/teaching experience with a focus on mental health.
4. Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
5. Effective interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
6. Effective instructional ability.
7. Ability to apply the theory, practices and principles of psychiatric nursing, medical nursing, and adult education.
8. Small group facilitation skills and leading, modeling and teaching interaction skills.
9. Ability to arrange, maintain and evaluate resources.
10. Understanding of copyright process.
11. Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
12. Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
13. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
