2012 Duties: Teach the following BDGD course, ARTG 130: Technology 2, which is scheduled for Tuesdays, 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m., includes the preparation and delivery of lectures, demonstrations, assessment and evaluation of students, facilitation of student integration of theory and practice, and provision of student support. Applicants must demonstrate a solid understanding of Adobe InDesign with practical experience in designing various multi-page print and digital materials, emphasizing solid layout design and typographic techniques, pre-press and visual design principles. Critical thinking, technical proficiency, and effective presentation. Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution. Required Qualifications: A Master\'s Degree in Graphic Design or closely related discipline from an appropriately accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of a Bachelor\'s Degree and significant industry and/or peer recognized professional experience. The successful applicant will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the professional skills required for publishing print and digital media including:
  • demonstrable experience and skills in studio work related to the profession;
  • previous experience within the course topic areas or relevant professional work demonstrating aptitude in the course material;
  • proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop as it applies to this field, as well as the Mac operating system.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience in the course topic areas, or relevant professional work demonstrating aptitude in the course material.
