General Accountability:



The Fitness/Wellness Instructor plans and facilitates specialized fitness programs for children, youth and adults which are offered by the Town of High River.

Specific Duties:



Develop, implement, and instruct the class within the scope of certification Organize the set up and take down required for activities, including, ensuring adequate equipment and supplies are available Actively participate in programs and activities, as required Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all areas used for programs Ensure the safety of program participants at all times Follow program policies and procedures as determined by the Recreation Administration & Programming Supervisor Promote and demonstrate the High Five principals and Quest 2 program evaluation guidelines Participate in the evaluation and recommendations for programs Provide a high standard of customer service Perform other related duties assigned

Minimum Qualifications:



Grade 12 education or equivalent Fitness/Wellness certification required for discipline of the class being instructed High Five Principals of Healthy Childhood Development Certification (8 hours) and/or High Five Principals of Healthy Aging Certification (8 hours); whichever is relevant to the demographics of the class being instructed Standard First Aid, CPR Level C/AED Demonstrated organization and leadership skills Excellent oral and written communication skills
