The Geography Department is excited to contribute courses for two new degrees within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences starting in the Fall of 2025: the Bachelor of Environment and Society (Environmental Sciences) and the Bachelor of Environment and Society (Environmental Studies). These degrees will be housed within the Institute of Interdisciplinary Studies. Courses for these degree programs will be taught at Capilano University's North Vancouver and Squamish campuses.
About the role
The Geography Department at Capilano University invites applications for a non-regular instructor in human geography. This is a unionized position and the successful candidate is required to teach two sections of GEOG 100 Human Geography and one section of GEOG 201 Urban Studies during the Spring 2026 term. Courses have a maximum of 35 students and will be delivered at our main North Vancouver campus. The successful candidate may be offered additional sections in future terms (fall, spring or summer) at the North Vancouver or Squamish campus dependent on scheduling needs and course enrolments. The position will begin on 1 January 2026.
The instructor will initially teach core human and urban geography courses at the undergraduate level and may be asked to teach or develop other courses in urban sustainability or regional geography relevant to their area of expertise. Duties include:
