Your Opportunity:
The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) provides leadership in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of educational activities for nursing staff, including orientation, compulsory education programs, clinical development and continuing education related to Apheresis. In addition, the CNE participates in zonal education programs/committees focusing on clinical policies/procedures pertinent to Apheresis. The CNE is responsible for the development and maintenance of the Apheresis Quality Management System, which includes identified elements such as legislation, continued competencies, Accreditation standards, quality improvement, document management, strategic plans, objectives an program/organizational needs. The Apheresis CNE will collaborate with the Apheresis leadership team and staff team in the provision of Plasma exchange, stem cell collections, photopheresis and red blood exchanges. The Apheresis service is provided to adult and pediatric patient populations in the outpatient and inpatient areas at the Foothills Medical Centre, Alberta Childrens Hospital and the Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. The CNE will demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively with the entire team. in assessing the service needs for all 3 clinical settings. Foothills Medical Center, Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Center and Alberta Childrens Hospital. Active participation in clinical trials and ongoing professional educational development is required.

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of recent teaching/leadership experience. Demonstrated expertise in application of adult teaching. Ability to promote change process (Prosci Change Management) Application and promotion of problem solving and creative thinking. Ability to enrich development of staff and provide meaningful feedback. Ability to prioritize and meet competing demands/requirements of all clinical settings. Ability to assess and plan appropriate resources to support Apheresis procedures at Foothills Medical Center, Arthur Child Comprehensive Cancer Center and Alberta Children\'s Hospital. Preferred Qualifications:
Recent Apheresis experience.
