An exciting career opportunity is opening up in our Operations Training Centre. We're looking for 7 passionate Instructors to join our Team!
What You Will Do
You will deliver and evaluate transportation/maintenance related training programs to employees, contractors, consultants, etc. As Intructor, you will work with others to develop new programs and to review and update existing programs.
Core responsibilities include:

  • Delivering training programs and educating staff to build skills and knowledge.
  • Monitoring, evaluating, and documenting staff performance to support continuous improvement.
  • Assisting with the coordination, development, and delivery of Section initiatives and projects.
  • Creating, updating, organizing, and maintaining training materials, resources, and documentation.
  • Storing and distributing materials appropriately to ensure accessibility and accuracy.
  • Planning, scheduling, facilitating, and organizing programs, events, and tasks to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Reviewing and analyzing submissions, documents, qualifications, and related materials.
  • Approving or denying requests based on established standards and criteria.
You will ensure that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner which complies with regulations, policies, and organizational procedures.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an Adult Training Certificate at a university/community college in Training and Development, or the equivalent within 3 years.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a qualified Bus Operator
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years Divisional Trainer or Supervisory experience in a transportation/public transit environment
  • Knowledge of operating principles and practices associated with revenue vehicles, related equipment and facilities combined with directly related work experience in a bus transportation environment
  • Must possess a valid B/CZ license for the past 3 years with "0" Demerit Points at the time of running abstract and clear CVOR with no convictions for the previous 5 years
  • Sound knowledge of pertinent policies, government legislation in regards to the operation of commercial vehicles, as well as the encompassed training in relation to qualifying employees to a higher-class licence
  • Thorough knowledge of, and the ability to apply adult education principles, instruction, assessment, testing and evaluation techniques, research methods and program design and development methodologies
  • Must have the ability to effectively deliver a comprehensive range of training programs to diverse groups in the classroom, at actual work locations, to large and small groups, and on a one-on-one basis as well as the ability to read, comprehend and explain complex concepts, technical information and maintenance procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, analytical, interpersonal, group facilitation, coaching and leadership skills
  • Must be able to successfully participate and pass the MTO Fleet Driver Certification program
  • The successful candidate must clear a Criminal Record Check and will be locked into the Instructor position for 3 years in the Operations Training Centre unless promoted to a higher-level position
