1. Provide instruction, coach, and supervise online and an in person lab for a communications class to post-secondary students.

2. Manage and maintain an optimal learning environment by providing student support.

3. Follow any academic regulations and/or policies adopted by the organization or campus.

4. Use appropriate methods of evaluating student progress and provide timely feedback to students.

5. Accommodate students with special learning needs.

6. Use appropriate methods of evaluating and recording student progress.

7. Practice good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

8. Work cooperatively with the program head and colleagues in an interdependent "team" environment.

9. Prepare and use appropriate delivery methods for instructing courses as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications


1. A four-year Bachelor of Communications degree, or B.A. (English or Communications major), or B.Ed. (English or Communications major) or equivalent combination of education which includes a degree (i.e. 20 university full classes (or U of S / U of R equivalent) with a major in an appropriate subject area and a completed thesis or equivalent research/writing project.

2. Two years recent/relevant business/industry experience or post-secondary teaching experience.

3. Ability to apply the theory, practices and principles of adult education.

4. Effective communication skills (written and oral).

5. Effective interpersonal skills.

6. Effective instructional skills.

7. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
