Looking for a leadership opportunity that allows you to provide valuable training, coaching and mentorship to a team of dynamic healthcare professionals? Cancer Care Alberta (CCA) has an exciting opportunity for an Instructor to join the CCA education team and provide support to 11 community cancer centres (CCCs). CCCs provide systemic treatment and clinic visits in smaller centres across the province delivering care closer to home. As Instructor, you will bring excellence in nursing skills (parenteral therapy, hazardous medications, high complexity, acute patients) as well as skills in adult learning. Ongoing staff support for new technologies, changes in practice, and ongoing learning are key components of the job. Additionally, you will be a member of a highly skilled team of Instructors, including a CCC partner, who work across all CCA\'s sites and provide support for policy, practice change and implementation across CCA. You will represent CCA on AHS groups examining things like clinical care topics, PPE for systemic treatment and other issues. As a member of multiple teams, you bring your demonstrated commitment to evidence-informed patient-centred care, excellence, and life-long learning. As a coach and mentor working in challenging environments, you bring demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills to this role. You will need these to work virtually and create critical connections across the province. Travel to sites is required occasionally. This position can be based at any CCA site. CCA works to ensure a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for patients and staff. This is key in CCCs and the educator is a leader in the delivery of inclusive patient-centred care. Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years nursing experience in high acuity care areas. This includes oncology, emergency, intensive care, trauma, or medical units treating oncology, transplant, complex palliative patients. Experience identifying staff training needs, developing teaching plans, teaching and evaluating impact. Demonstrated competency in Microsoft office suite which includes creation of spreadsheets, presentations, workflows and use of Teams. Demonstrated ability to learn innovative technology as a learning management system is a future goal. Experience with connect care (Beacon) to provide ongoing support of staff learning of revised and new workflows. Demonstrated collaborative skills in producing teams-based results. Demonstrated ability to work independently, consult for collaborative expertise and take initiative to resolve issues in response to new demands. Responsible for welcoming new staff (nursing and clerical), assessing their skill set, planning, and delivering orientation, providing coaching and support, and evaluating learning. This position reports and works provincially, building relationships across CCA is essential. Demonstrated understanding of rural healthcare challenges. Cancer Care is a growth industry, and it is a challenging environment dependent on effective teamwork and individual initiative. The instructor leads practice changes, responds to staff questions and participates in coverage of other regional or community cancer sites as needed. Preferred Qualifications:

BN and completion of or enrolment in a master\'s degree in nursing, leadership, or education. Completion of O-prep courses, Foundations 1 and 2, and Alberta Systemic Therapy. Experience as a clinical Instructor. Experience in oncology. Completion of courses in quality improvement, change management are an asset.
