Lead engaging one-on-one and small-group sessions for students in Grades 1-8 across English, Math, Science, and other core subjects.
Design and implement lesson plans tailored to each learner's pace, style, and academic objectives.
Use student-centered approaches to strengthen language skills and build learner confidence.
Evaluate student performance and provide constructive, timely feedback to guide improvement.
Create and sustain a supportive, motivating classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and academic achievement.
Qualifications & Requirements
Academic expertise:
Strong command of English language concepts, including reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary.
Literature background:
A degree in English Literature or a related field, with in-depth knowledge of literary works.
Student-focused:
Patient, caring, and dedicated to fostering both academic success and personal growth in young learners.
Classroom management:
Proven ability to maintain structure and productivity in small-group settings.
Instructional flexibility:
Skilled at adapting teaching strategies to individual student needs and providing customized support.
Collaboration:
Works well in a team setting, open to supporting colleagues and taking on shared responsibilities.
Adaptability:
Comfortable incorporating new teaching tools, methods, and curriculum updates.
Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively connect with students and maintain open communication with parents.
Curriculum knowledge:
Familiar with Ontario curriculum standards and assessment practices.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience is an asset.
