About the role
This position is a part-time faculty position to teach animation action analysis class to first-year students in the 3D Animation for Film and Games department. The action analysis class studies human and animal motion in order to build a fundamental understanding of movement, timing and the principles of animation. This class supports the 3D character animation classes.
As a part-time faculty member, you will help provide educational leadership, vision, industry outreach, and curriculum development. The ideal candidate will have a broad range of industry experience in the creation of advanced 3D character animation. This position is ideal for a senior animation professional who is capable of teaching action analysis to first-year students.
Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Instruct students in action analysis concepts.
  • Research, prepare and deliver materials required for class lectures and labs.
  • Review and refine existing course curriculum and adapt to the changing needs of online delivery and industry requirements.
  • Evaluate and provide critical feedback on students' progress and performance.
  • Participation in department planning, and review activities.
  • Work collaboratively with students, staff and faculty in the development and delivery of the 3D Animation program.
  • Engage with local industry to ensure graduate success.
  • Inspire the next generation of 3D artists and animators.
Experience, competencies & qualifications
  • Master's Degree or equivalent is preferred; however, a combination of a Bachelors's degree, industry experience, and instructional equivalencies will be considered.
  • A minimum of 10 years' senior character animation production experience in television, film or game industries.
  • High-level character animation production experience using Maya preferred.
  • Post-Secondary teaching experience preferred.
