Summary
The instructional designer is responsible for the design and delivery of reliable, effective instructional content for our training programs. Using a variety of software design tools, they work directly with training owners, Operations subject matter experts, and external clients. Their goal is to educate and inspire learners to perform at a high level for the benefit of our company. They report to the Content Team lead.
What\xe2\x80\x99s On Your Plate:
Design and create the learning content (document, job aid, slide deck, e-learning course, simulation, etc.) including:
Layout
Text
Images
Video
Audio
Identify learning objectives
Follow the process for taking a design approach to building training (reverse-engineer the desired outcomes into the appropriate training solution)
Gather all necessary information from existing documentation, investigation, observation, or other methods
Apply adult learning principles in creative ways
Assess learner knowledge by designing formative and summative assessments
Coordinate the review and validation process including:
Regular show-and-tells with SMEs/sponsors throughout the duration of the project
Internal QA review
SME/sponsor sign-off
Coordinate the publishing and release of the content including:
Uploading learning content to a variety of platforms
Verifying its availability and accessibility
Providing access support for client teams
Collaborate with other instructional designers to achieve a common goal.
Gain influence with and lead people outside of established authority structures
