Expected Compensation: The expected hiring range for this role is $73,600 to $92,000 with a 35-hour work week. Your rate of pay will be determined based on your individual qualifications and experience while considering internal equity.

As an Instructional Designer, you will provide support to the Business Technology Enablement Office by partnering with subject matter experts to develop and deliver high-quality learning resources across various media and formats. Your expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design will be essential in creating and refining Westlands technical learning content.

Why well love You:
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and delivering learning content in a variety of formats such as e-modules, webinars, job aids, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and theory, including experience in technical writing
  • Proficiency in developing effective web-based learning material using Rapid Design tools such as Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, Vyond or PowToon
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and web conferencing solutions such as Zoom
  • Experience administering cloud-based learning management systems is an asset (experience with Ceridian Dayforce or eLoomi considered an asset)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Public speaking and facilitation skills a plus, but not required
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma with a focus on adult education, instructional design, or related field
Once here, youll
  • Create engaging learning materials and supporting documents such as job aids, videos, eLearning modules, technical guides and SharePoint resources; leveraging best practices in adult learning principles, blended learning approaches, and Westlands content development software
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to produce top-tier learning resources that meet the needs of our employees
  • Conduct needs analyses when new technologies are introduced, evolve, or when knowledge gaps are identified, ensuring that learning solutions are relevant and effective.
  • Regularly review and update our learning resources to keep it current and engaging, adapting to business needs and technology enhancements.
  • Update and revise content as needed based on business needs and technology changes
  • Test and gather feedback on all eLearning courses before publishing to ensure positive employee experience
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with managers, leadership, and external vendor contacts to facilitate collaboration.
  • Contribute to projects by creating and delivering technical training content development and training delivery, to support the implementation of new technologies and ongoing sustainment of Westlands existing tech stack
  • Assist with measuring effectiveness of training, manage feedback, identify trends, make recommendations
  • Advise learners and business stakeholders on options for ongoing development where required
  • Provide support for filming of video components for eLearning courses
  • Ongoing administration of the learning management system, updating content, providing reports as required
  • Maintain knowledge of industry changes, Westlands product offerings, and best practices in Adult Learning Principles.
