Job Description


One of our government-funded provincial organization clients is looking for an Instructional Designer (Moodle LMS, SCORM Content Exp.)
Length: Term Contract
Location: Ontario (100% Remote)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The training will be housed on our Moodle LMS and will include training videos and other resources, self-assessments and quizzes and other training tools and elements in order to:
1. Train new staff on using the CRM
2. Train existing staff on how to use the CRM more effectively
3. Used as a reference to help staff when they have specific questions or situations in using the CRM

We anticipate the training program will include an assessment for new staff by a member of our training team, who will also be the facilitator for the online asynchronous training.

Scope:
The instructional designer will report to the Director Data Management Services and work with them and our current training team and CRM specialists in developing a comprehensive, engaging, user-friendly training program.

THEY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
1. Needs analysis - analyse existing content and resources, interviewing subject matter experts, reviewing survey results from staff
2. Identify learning objectives
3. Identify and conceptualize content, \xe2\x80\x9cchunk\xe2\x80\x9d out the learning objectives; provide outline for each module and scripts - work with subject matter experts to create content (video, written, other)
4. Create a storyboard to include critical learning components
5. Design a basic module template
6. Design and develop content using authoring software (you pick, we\'ll obtain licensing)
7. Publish the content to Moodle, incorporate interactive elements (e.g. H5P, test your knowledge, etc.)
8. Incorporate feedback from subject-matter experts and test learners
9. There may be other elements of course development we have missed, we will look to the instructional designer to use their experience to provide guidance on what other steps are needed and overall direction on the organization of the project

CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Experienced in creating immersive and engaging e-learning experiences
- Expertise in designing SCORM-compliant resources with a universal design for learning approach
- Experience in adult education or corporate training
- Strong background in design and implementation of learning frameworks and material
- Bachelor\'s degree or higher in education or related field
- Instructional design certificate or degree
- Knowledge of Moodle LMS (current v 3.8, upgrading to 4.1)
- Knowledgeable on and skilled in using various programs and tools to build resources (can use their own programs if they have them, or recommend and we will get subscriptions)
