Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you will do as Instructional Design & Delivery Specialist:

Reporting to the Director, Quality & Project Management, the Instructional Design & Delivery Specialist is accountable for leading and executing the training and development strategy for Customer Success including instructional design (in-person and virtually) and facilitation, translating key stakeholder requirements into multi-faceted, engaging, and interactive training models. The Training Specialist is the key point of contact for learning initiatives for all internal and external customers, supporting the development, implementation and enhancement of compliance and client related training initiatives. The Training Specialist will also lead continuous improvement learning projects as well as assist in the development of relevant operational procedures. You will:
  • Partner with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure training requirements are fulfilled including undertaking continuous improvement projects. Conduct regular needs assessments and make recommendations on new training initiatives to improve customer experience;
  • Design and develop courses and curriculum and enhance online learning materials. Write scripts for video and audio content. Collaborate with subject experts to develop suitable material;
  • Apply knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design principles to translate sophisticated business workflows into a multi-faceted, engaging, and interactive training modality;
  • Coach and guide managers on use of training methods and techniques for training and coaching employees;
  • Facilitate training in-person and on-line to employees, contractors and/or vendors;
  • Analyze and assess compliance training needs for employees, contractors and vendors. Develop, organize and maintain compliance training programs, curricula, assessment/certification and corresponding tools and learning materials (i.e. training scripts, manuals, multimedia visual aids, etc.);
  • Deliver various compliance training (i.e. transportation legislation: TDGA and ACR, employment legislation: AODA, ISO900:2015, Health & Safety, etc.) using Learning Management Systems (LMS), classroom and remote training tools;
  • Monitor, track and report on all training activities to ensure effectiveness and completion;
  • Maintain knowledge of current best practices and trends in instructional design, e-learning and any relevant transportation or employment legislation;
  • Troubleshoot issues reported by users, in collaboration with technical staff;
  • Support the preparation and completion of inspections and audits through collaboration with Quality Assurance. Prepare, review and provide relevant documents and assign tasks for each audit/inspection. Analyze audit and inspection findings and propose solutions as needed;
  • Maintain training-related documents and materials, operational procedures and work instructions and Health and Safety policies;
  • Special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of Apple Express.
Here\xe2\x80\x99s what you will need to be successful as Instructional Design & Delivery Specialist:
  • Completion of college diploma in instructional design, education or other relevant field;
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in instructional design, training delivery and facilitation;
  • Strong background in instructional design, adult learning theory, facilitation, training, program evaluation and change management. Teaching or training license, or Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) designation or similar certification an asset;
  • Experience translating in-depth information into an easy to understand, digestible format;
  • Strong technical skills and experience with audio and video editing tools;
  • Previous software experience with design platforms (i.e. Adobe InDesign), course management systems (i.e. Blackboard), learning management systems and authoring tools (i.e. iSpring, animaker). Advanced proficiency with MS Office suite including MS Project, PowerPoint and Visio;
  • Success in this position requires creativity, effective communication skills, collaboration, time management and project management skills;
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills along with facilitation, training and presentation skills;
  • Ability to assess, recommend and implement software needs for training purposes and adapt to and learn new software quickly;
  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment and complete a high volume of tasks and projects with minimal guidance and react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events that require quick response or turnaround;
  • Bilingual in French an asset;
  • Limited travel within the GTA and Canada may be required.
