About the Position
Duties and Responsibilities
The Instructional Assistant will play a key role in supporting both students and faculty within the Office Administration programs at College of the North Atlantic's Prince Philip Drive campus:
Instructional support: support faculty by helping plan and deliver lessons, and demonstrate key skills and tasks for the program, such as document production, computerized accounting, records management, and other relevant computer applications
Classroom and lab assistance: assist students in classrooms and computer labs by providing guidance, clarifying instructions, and helping them complete assignments successfully.
Assessment and feedback: help faculty monitor student progress, give feedback, identify students needing extra support, and keep accurate records of performance and participation.
Student engagement and guidance: guide students by modeling professional behavior, encouraging participation, and supporting independent problem-solving.
Learning environment: help create a safe and inclusive learning environment, support diverse learning needs, and respond to student questions professionally and patiently.
Administrative support: perform administrative tasks such as preparing materials, managing course resources, and supporting faculty with documentation.
Collaboration: work with faculty and staff to improve the program, support curriculum delivery, and maintain high-quality, student-focused instruction.

A Diploma in Office Administration (equivalencies will be considered).
Recent, relevant work experience in an office environment.
Assessment Criteria
Knowledge of the office administration field.
Knowledge of current software, including the MS Office Suite.
Knowledge of classroom management and instructional techniques being used in a teaching and learning environment.
