Wage Range: $23.00 - $30.00

Modern has been proudly supporting the building industry on the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland and is the local source of quality windows, doors and building products since 1986. Our customers include DIY, residential and commercial builders.

In this full-time role, you will play a key part in supporting our day to day operations as part of our Installer team in the Courtenay branch. You will exceed customer expectations by providing the highest quality installation and service every time. In this role you will put your skills to work by providing exemplary service in the following ways:

Key Job Responsibilities:

Perform high quality installation of continuously run gutters.

Replace, repair, and maintain gutter systems.

Effectively run equipment to install gutter systems.

Various methods of installation including cutting, fastening and sealing all gaps and joints to ensure high quality finish.

Drilling holes to fit screws and mount brackets.

Various prepping tasks and general clean-up.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site.

Ability to work well with others and in a safe manner.

Enthusiasm for providing excellent customer service to increase retention and satisfaction.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:

1-2+ years' experience with on-site installations.

Previous experience in a construction, home building industry or a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Ability to work on ladders with a variety of hand tools, powered tools and assembly machinery.

Functional math skills to calculate and measure with ability to read tape measure.

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with both internal and external customers.

Class 5 Drivers License; must provide an ICBC abstract. First Aid, WHIMIS, Forklift certification an asset but will be provided.

Environmental & Physical/Mental Demands:

The physical demands of this job require the employee to have good coordination and be able to lift up to 23kg-34kg (50-75lbs).

Ability to perform various tasks required during gutter installations, such as lifting, climbing, and bending.

Comfortable and confident with working at heights.

Must be committed to working safely and following all health and safety policies.

Total Pay Package:

Competitive compensation and extended benefits plan including, health and dental available at 6 months.
