The Irrigation Installation Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating all aspects of irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair. This includes overseeing the work of installation crews, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, and securing the highest quality standards for all installations. The supervisor will also handle client relations, track project progress, and ensure safety protocols are adhered to on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise Installation Crew:
o Lead and manage a team of technicians to install irrigation systems for
residential, commercial, or green roof/municipalprojects.
o Ability to influence and drive team performance to achieve business goals and objectives.
o Delegate tasks to crew members and provide guidance, ensuring all work is
completed safely and efficiently.
o Assist the site team in allocating labour, materials, and equipment effectively
2. Project Planning & Coordination:
o Work with clients or project managers to review project plans, requirements, and schedules.
o Ensure that the installation of irrigation systems aligns with client expectations, site plans and project specifications.
o Oversee project closeout activities, including final inspections and documentation.
o Deliver client project closing documentation, including as-builts, manuals, and warranties
3. Quality Control:
o Ensure that all installations meet/exceed industry standards.
o Perform inspections to check for system leaks, pressure issues, and proper functionality.
o Conduct a system review with clients after the job is complete to ensure customer satisfaction.
4. Equipment Management:
o Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring all tools and
machinery are in good working order.
o Ensure that the team uses the correct equipment, tools and materials for each project.
5. Training and Development:
o Train new and existing crew members on installation techniques, safety protocols, and irrigation system knowledge.
o Encourage ongoing education to keep up with advancements in irrigation.
6. Scheduling & Time Management:
o Create and maintain work schedules to ensure efficient completion of all projects.
o Monitor project timelines and adjust when necessary to avoid delays.
o Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Communication:
o Communicates effectively with clients to update them on work plans, schedules, progress, address concerns, and provide solutions.
o Offer recommendations for system upgrades or adjustments if necessary.
o Work with Site Personnel to coordinate irrigation execution and supply deliveries to maintain project timelines.
8. Safety Management:
o Ensure all team members adhere to safety guidelines and industry best practices.
o Attend on-site safety training meetings requested.
o Provide regular safety meetings/tailgate talks and independent direction as required.
o Maintain a safe working environment by identifying and addressing hazards.
9. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
o Diagnose and address issues that arise during installation or maintenance.

Requirements
Experience: 3-5
years of experience in general installation (irrigation, construction, trade or other), with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Skills:
o Knowledge of irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and other water management techniques.
o Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
o Familiarity with project management software is a plus.
Certifications:
o Certification from a recognized irrigation association (such as the Irrigation
Association (IA) certification or Water Smart Irrigation Program) is highly preferred.
o Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Physical Demands:
o Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances
o Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
o Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor.
Safety Knowledge:
o Working knowledge of OHSA and all other relevant health and safety legislation and general safety standards, including all internal policies and procedures for each job site.
o Knowledge of all relevant rules and regulations of the Highway Traffic Act, as well as any MOL requirements.
