The Overhead Crane Installation Foreman is responsible for leading and overseeing the site planning, installation, and commissioning of overhead crane projects. This role is crucial in ensuring that installations are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. This involves coordinating with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Installation:
Conduct pre-installation site meetings with clients and engineers, as directed by the Acculift Project Manager.
Perform crane layouts and ensure equipment sold is correctly sized for onsite conditions and specified to meet customer production requirements.
Work with Project Manager to determine and schedule the appropriate installation equipment and resources.
Installation:
Serve as the primary point of contact for the Project Manager.
Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure adherence to safety protocols on-site.
Lead and execute equipment installation, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
Address on-site issues proactively, solving problems as they arise, and escalating when necessary.
Provide Project Manager with regular updates on project progress, timelines, and potential risks.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all work completed complies with CSA, CMAA, and other relevant safety and regulatory standards.
Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols on project sites.
Work closely with safety personnel to maintain a hazard-free work environment.
Quality Control & Documentation:
Ensure projects meet quality standards and all post installation inspection and commissioning records are completed and filed.
Create and maintain accurate documentation for all safety related inspections.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working in or with industrial manufacturing facilities.
Journeyman certification in a relevant trade is preferred. (e.g., Millwright, Ironworker, Welder).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating equipment (e.g. forklift, Aerial Work Platforms)
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems related to overhead cranes.
Familiarity with crane regulations, safety standards, and load handling.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership and ability to make decisions based on facts and data.
Tenacity and drive to do whatever it takes to get the job done right.
Excellent planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to cope with sudden change.
Manage deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, very organized.
Maintain a high level of professionalism in all situations.

Physical Demands
Requires lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
Frequent lifting of parts weighing 10-20 pounds, occasional lifting of 30-50 pounds, and occasional lifting of parts over 50 pounds.
Exposure to industrial environments requiring PPE compliance.
Other:
Valid Class 3 Drivers License - or willingness to get it.
Willingness to travel to customer sites across Manitoba and surrounding areas as required.
Flexible and available to work extended hours, including overtime and weekends, as needed.

Pay: $35.00-$50.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
