Inspector, Quality Control Electrical

Job Description

As Inspector, Quality Control - Electrical, you will be responsible for inspections related to the construction, modification, or repair of a vessel, according to the Quality Control plan. To do so, you will need to use relevant documentation and calibrated equipment in compliance with procedures. Your duties will include gathering quality evidence (records and reports) confirming the conducted tests and inspections. More specifically, you will:


Review and analyze project-related specifications to prepare necessary inspection plans; Conduct tests and inspections during production to ensure work compliance with client requirements, norms and specified standards; Perform tests and inspections on materials and equipment in inventory on-site; Understand project-specific requirements and ensure work is conducted in accordance with specifications, regulations, standards and internal procedures; Identify any non-compliance following an inspection and assist in addressing these non-compliances to facilitate resolution; Conduct inspections in the presence of the client to ensure the final product complies with standards and requirements; Review specifications, drawings, procedures and technical standards required for each project; Participate in the creation/revision of documents (such as specifications, inspection reports, quality assurance audits, technical system documentation, and inspection standards operating procedures).

Requirements:




Demonstrate relevant work experience in quality control in the construction or heavy manufacturing industry; Have one or more qualifications in maritime electrical fields (IEEE 45, TP127, etc.); Have a thorough understanding of quality control procedures, record-keeping and systems; Proficiency in French (written and spoken) and functional English; Ability to interpret specifications and technical drawings; Knowledge of measuring instrument calibration; Knowledge of classification society regulations (Lloyds, ABS, etc.); Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software; Ability to work effectively in a team and in the presence of clients; Willingness to undergo the investigation and security clearance procedure required under the federal government's contract security program.
