Job Summary:

As an Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Rack it Right at Konstant, you will report to the Manager of Rack it Right to ensure accuracy and compliance to organizational standards. Your specific responsibilities include:

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

• Performing On-site Inspections \xe2\x80\x93 Performing inspections of racking structures in customers facilities to ensure the structures are compliant with all applicable codes and standards. Issuing reports in a timely manner pertaining to the findings of the inspection.

• Drawings and Engineering Review \xe2\x80\x93 reviewing technical drawings and specifications of industrial rack, shelving and multi-tier storage systems for completeness, accuracy and compliance with current applicable codes and standards; preparing and P. Eng stamping of technical documents, including PSR, and CAD drawings; Calculate load capacity of a given racking structure and issue a load capacity report

• Repair Design & Approval \xe2\x80\x93 Design approved repair options for damaged racking structures that adhere to all current applicable codes and standards. Provide engineers stamp to repaired racking structures with an updated load capacity once approved repair has been completed.

• Technical Support \xe2\x80\x93 providing timely engineering support to internal sales, project managers, customers, consultants, and other sub-contractors; this includes resolving unforeseen product design, manufacturing, and assembly issues during the span of a project; performing field inspections as required for quality assurance and general conformity

• Training \xe2\x80\x93 Perform training seminars on racking inspections to customers who want to conduct routine inspections.

• Qualifications:
• 3 years minimum of Canadian work experience as a licensed P.Eng.
• proven experience with cold-formed steel design (CSA S136)
• working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• ability to perform structural assessments and specify remedial action
• proficient in technical writing and in preparing public presentations
• fluent in French language is an asset

The role of an Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Rack it Right inherently involves constant communication and interaction with Design, Sales, Manufacturing, and BT personnel to successfully manage projects. This final responsibility flows through each of the preceding five responsibilities.

You are required to maintain technical competence and acquire new job-relevant knowledge and skills through self-study and by participating in training or other learning activities offered by Konstant. It is also expected that work is performed beyond normal working hours to meet critical project milestones.

Exigences du poste et qualifications :

Produire des rapports en temps opportun sur les r\xc3\xa9sultats de l\'inspection.

• \xc3\x89valuation et certification techniques : examiner les dessins techniques et les sp\xc3\xa9cifications des syst\xc3\xa8mes industriels de rayonnage, d\'\xc3\xa9tag\xc3\xa8res et de stockage \xc3\xa0 plusieurs niveaux pour en v\xc3\xa9rifier l\'exhaustivit\xc3\xa9, l\'exactitude et la conformit\xc3\xa9 aux codes et aux normes en vigueur; pr\xc3\xa9parer et apposer le sceau de l\xe2\x80\x99ing\xc3\xa9nieur sur les documents techniques, y compris les PSR et les dessins CAO; calculer la capacit\xc3\xa9 de charge d\'une structure de rayonnage donn\xc3\xa9e et \xc3\xa9mettre un rapport de capacit\xc3\xa9 de charge.

• Conception et approbation des r\xc3\xa9parations : concevoir des options de r\xc3\xa9paration approuv\xc3\xa9es pour les structures de rayonnage endommag\xc3\xa9es qui respectent tous les codes et normes applicables en vigueur. Apposer le sceau d\xe2\x80\x99ing\xc3\xa9nieur sur les structures de rayonnage r\xc3\xa9par\xc3\xa9es avec une capacit\xc3\xa9 de charge mise \xc3\xa0 jour une fois la r\xc3\xa9paration approuv\xc3\xa9e termin\xc3\xa9e.

• Soutien technique : fournir un soutien technique sur les questions relatives \xc3\xa0 la s\xc3\xa9curit\xc3\xa9, \xc3\xa0 l\'utilisation et \xc3\xa0 la maintenance des rayonnages aux responsables des ventes internes, aux gestionnaires de projet, aux clients, aux consultants et aux autres sous-traitants; cela inclut les probl\xc3\xa8mes relatifs aux \xc2\xab \xc3\xa9valuations pr\xc3\xa9alables de sant\xc3\xa9 et de s\xc3\xa9curit\xc3\xa9 \xc2\xbb, aux dommages des rayonnages et aux r\xc3\xa9parations des rayonnages.

Qualifications :

• Au moins trois ans d\'exp\xc3\xa9rience de travail au Canada en tant qu\xe2\x80\x99ing\xc3\xa9nieur agr\xc3\xa9\xc3\xa9
• Exp\xc3\xa9rience \xc3\xa9prouv\xc3\xa9e dans la conception d\xe2\x80\x99acier form\xc3\xa9 \xc3\xa0 froid (CSA S136)
• Connaissance pratique des r\xc3\xa9glementations en mati\xc3\xa8re de sant\xc3\xa9 et de s\xc3\xa9curit\xc3\xa9 au travail
• Capacit\xc3\xa9 \xc3\xa0 effectuer des \xc3\xa9valuations structurelles et \xc3\xa0 sp\xc3\xa9cifier les mesures correctives
• Ma\xc3\xaetrise de la r\xc3\xa9daction technique et de la pr\xc3\xa9paration de pr\xc3\xa9sentations
• Parler couramment le fran\xc3\xa7ais est un atout
