Job Description
Join a well-established and highly regarded full-service law firm in the heart of Toronto as an experienced attorney in the insolvency and debt recovery practice group. This role offers the opportunity to work on a dynamic range of insolvency, bankruptcy, and debt enforcement matters for a diverse client base, including lenders, trustees, receivers, and debtors.
What You'll Do:
Advise clients on bankruptcy, insolvency, restructuring, and creditor rights matters Represent stakeholders in proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA) Manage litigation involving debt collection, asset recovery, and security enforcement Draft and negotiate legal documents including proposals, restructuring agreements, and court materials Collaborate with lawyers across commercial litigation, corporate, real estate, and tax teams Represent clients in court on motions, applications, and other insolvency proceedings
What We're Looking For:
At least 5 years of experience in insolvency law, including litigation and debt recovery Strong academic and professional credentials Confident courtroom presence with polished advocacy skills Ability to independently manage complex legal files Collaborative approach with excellent communication skills Commitment to client service and relationship building
