We are looking for a skilled Injection Molding Process Engineer to join our team and support our growing production operations for one of our client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting molding processes to ensure high-quality production and efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with production, tooling, and quality teams to support new product launches and ongoing process improvements.
Duties
Set up and operate injection molding machines, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to production schedules.
Monitor machine operations, adjusting parameters as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Conduct routine inspections of molds, tooling, and industrial equipment to identify wear or potential issues.
Perform root cause analysis on production defects or machine malfunctions to implement effective corrective actions.
Design and implement injection molding processes for both new and existing products.
Set up and maintain injection molding machines for optimal efficiency.
Analyze and resolve production issues to maintain a robust and consistent process.
Troubleshoot molding issues (flash, short shots, warpage, etc.) and implement corrective actions.
Strong knowledge of injection molding machines, different types of plastics, and molding processes.
Support tooling design, maintenance, and modifications in collaboration with toolmakers.
Maintain detailed process documentation, including schematics, process engineering reports, and factory logs aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
Collaborate with project scheduling teams to meet production deadlines while supporting lean manufacturing initiatives.
Ensure molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and processes meet safety and quality standards.
Demonstrated ability to start-up, operate and shut down process related equipment, must be able to work independently on new process development as well as troubleshooting current production issues.
Monitor and report issues with injection molds, make recommendations for refurbishment based on production factors such as cycles, process capability, and tooling history.
Support continuous improvement efforts by analyzing processes, participating in kaizen events, and implementing process engineering solutions.
Ensure safety protocols are followed diligently while operating industrial equipment and handling tooling or fabrication tasks.
Requirements
Proven experience working within a manufacturing facility, particularly in plastics injection molding or related industrial engineering roles.
Mechanical knowledge of injection molding machines, CNC programming, CAM programming, CNC operation, and industrial equipment maintenance.
Strong understanding of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo for schematics design and tooling development.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in injection molding process development and optimization preferably in plastic industry.
- Hands-on experience with scientific molding principles (RJG, Decoupled Molding preferred).
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Schematics interpretation, and process engineering principles.
Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex issues related to process or equipment failures.
Excellent mechanical engineering skills combined with industrial engineering insights for optimizing production workflows.
Strong project scheduling skills to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
