The successful candidate will be accountable for installing and repairing digital services in a clean, safe, professional manner and delivering an exceptional customer experience to any one of our valued partners locally, provincially or nationwide. Starting wage will be determined based on relevant education and experience.
CUSTOMER SERVICE REQUIREMENTS
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Field Technician will need to possess a positive and passionate personality, with the natural ability to positively communicate with any of TechConnect's Customer's and Staff. They will maintain eye contact and demonstrate an ability to listen and empathize with our customer's needs and problems.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform safe installation and repair of digital equipment related to voice and data services: phone, internet & TV, while adhering to company standards, federal and provincial laws.
Working with Coax Cable as well as Tip and Ring, and Security systems
Solutions-based selling - recommending products & services to customers
Maintains accurate system records and support documentation for all work orders
Ensures work vehicle, test equipment and tools are maintained and in good working condition
Promotes TechConnect and the client with providing exceptional customer service, positive and professional image
A knack for problem solving and multitasking in a fast paced, time-sensitive environment
The ability to recognize one's mistakes and learn from them
A commitment to teamwork and working in a fun and friendly atmosphere
Complete all required documentation accurately and thoroughly
Assist in the preparation of labeling, pre-packaging, stocking and organizing equipment
Maintain adequate stock levels of equipment, including ordering new equipment, pick-up and delivery
Maintain cleanliness of the company office, warehouse and surrounding area
Assist in the development and implementation of new processes to improve workflow
Assist in the field as required
Other duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 education or equivalent
Previous field experience and/or education in the telecommunications/Cable TV industry
Valid Canadian driver's license without any restrictions (Abstract required)
Personal truck/van, no older than 10 years and good running order.
Fluent in English, with demonstrated professional oral and written communications skills: fluency in other languages would be a bonus
Ability to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
Approved PPE, job tools and equipment required.
Ability to work solo or in a team environment with minimal supervision
Strong organization, prioritizing, time management and multi-tasking skills
Ability to travel locally and beyond your Base of Operations
Possess strong computer skills
Previous experience in customer service and/or sales
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift a minimum of 70lbs
Must be able to climb or work at heights in excess of 28'
Must be able to work in various Canadian weather conditions in all seasons
Must have appropriate vision to be able to safely identify various colour schemes
Physically able to perform all aspects of the job including, but not limited to, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces and safely operating hand tools
