Description General information: Hitachi energy is a global leader in technology, and the largest supplier of transformers in the world. We are pioneering the digitalization of transformers, while working on the frontier of renewable energy and ultra-high voltage AC & DC applications. To maintain quality products to support our growth strategy, the candidate will be in charge of the quality of the suppliers for the Varennes plant, which specializes in manufacturing power transformers. As part of his duties, the Quality Specialist will be responsible for qualifying, monitoring and improving the performance of suppliers under the CSA N299 quality program. In addition, his mandate also includes quality support for warranty returns. Responsibilities: As part of the management of warranty returns, resolve supply quality issues using standard tools such as 8D. Ensure quick and effective management of escapes: implement immediate containment, validate if the problem applies to other products, establish an effective action plan with the various departments of the plant (supply, production, project management, quality, engineering), and lead the supplier to establish an appropriate recovery plan. Analyze recurring warranty returns to incorporate lessons learned into design and/or manufacturing processes. Act as a leader in the implementation of the CSA N299 standard with suppliers. Complete the CSA N299 qualification process with suppliers. Establish product control plans (receiving/shipping inspections and in-production critical points) to support the requirements of standard CSA N299. Develop and maintain inspection plans of CSA Ne99 articles: critical points, sampling, batch control, etc. Management of warranty non-conformities with suppliers and the procurement and warranty team. Liaise with the procurement to enforce the requirements of standard CSA N299. Produce monthly statistics and analysis of supplier quality data regarding warranty returns and on-site issues. Establish and maintain supplier quality procedures and practices related to CSA N299 and the warranty quality process. Your background: Qualifications Careful communication skills Leadership and autonomy Team player Bilingualism (French and English) Technical knowledge: reading blueprints, basic electrical skills (an asset) Sense of urgency and execution Knowledge of CSA N299 and ISO 9001 Ability to travel without advance notice (20-30%) Knowledge of SAP and Microsoft office tools Knowledge of Knowledge of cause analysis tools, e.g. 8D, RCA, Six-sigma, etc. Continuous improvement skills Experience Bachelor\'s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering At least 5-8 years of experience in a technical role and supplier quality management Experience in high power transformers (an asset) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) qualification (an asset) Proven track record in continuous process improvement; positive leadership; able to link solutions to deliverables.
