THE POSITION

The Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation is currently looking for an energetic and outgoing individual to fill the role of In-Game Host for the Calgary Hitmen. Reporting to the Manager, Game Presentation, the In-Game Host is responsible for hosting and executing in-game content, working alongside the Game Presentation team to deliver a first-class entertainment experience at all Calgary Hitmen home games.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Host and execute in-game content as outlined by Game Presentation staff. Engage fans to participate in contesting and live promotions. Provide an entertaining and exciting voice to the Calgary Hitmen to work alongside a PA Announcer. Conduct live interviews with special guests, celebrities, team alumni, etc. Opportunity to represent the Calgary Hitmen at community events as a host. Host sponsor events around the City of Calgary in partnership with the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. Active participation in the Safety Program and follow all safety rules. All other duties as assigned.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal individual will have the following background:


Prior experience with public speaking and performing in a hosting role. Working knowledge of the Calgary Hitmen, WHL and the game of hockey. Strong interpersonal and public speaking ability. Must be comfortable performing in front of large crowds and in front of a camera. Ability to improvise and quickly respond to last minute requests. Schedule flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts. Background in public speaking, television, or broadcasting is preferred.
