Infrastructure Project Manager (latin America, Remote)

Remote, CA, Canada

Job Description

Infrastructure Project Manager (Latin America, Remote)
Remote - Canada | Contract

Client:

Azure-exclusive consultancy helping mature startups migrate to Azure and get enterprise-ready

Location:

Remote within Latin America

Language:

English C1

Engagement:

Full-time, long-term contract

Responsibilities

Act as the delivery lead managing 3-5 concurrent infrastructure projects simultaneously; serve as the primary client contact and escalation point for each engagement.
Drive pragmatic, low-ceremony delivery: clarify scope on the fly, draft simple plans and timelines, track what matters, and keep teams unblocked without needing hand-holding or an established process.
Own client relationships: facilitate meetings, capture decisions and action items, follow through to closure, and publish concise weekly updates that keep stakeholders informed and confident.
Coordinate internal resources (solution architects, Azure DevOps engineers, cloud engineers) across multiple projects; balance allocation, identify bottlenecks early, and shift priorities to keep delivery on track.
Clearly track effort, timeline, and scope for each project using basic boards or spreadsheets; maintain epics, acceptance criteria, and a short list of risks/issues that everyone can understand.
Manage basic commercial hygiene with support from leadership: SOW deliverables, change requests, acceptance sign-off, and invoicing checkpoints.
Surface security/governance and cost concerns to technical leads; ensure tagging/budgets are applied and flag gaps that could derail go-live.
Drive handover readiness: runbooks, operational notes, links to dashboards/alerts, and a short hypercare plan after cutover.

Mandatory Requirements

4+ years managing customer-facing infrastructure or cloud projects, ideally in a consultancy, startup, or fast-moving small team environment.
Proven track record delivering 3-5 smaller projects simultaneously with overlapping timelines and shared resource pools.
Startup mindset: scrappy, self-driven, comfortable operating without heavy process; more focused on shipping and relationship-building than following a playbook.
Strong ability to get projects unstuck independently: identify blockers, chase down answers, make pragmatic trade-offs, and drive closure without escalating everything upward.
Excellent client communication: set realistic expectations, handle escalations calmly, translate technical complexity into executive language, and maintain trust under pressure.
Solid experience allocating shared resources (engineers, architects, vendors) across competing priorities and timelines.
Disciplined tracking of effort, timeline, and scope using lightweight tools (boards, spreadsheets, or simple project trackers); clear documentation of decisions, acceptance criteria, and status.
Working knowledge of Agile delivery principles (Scrum or Kanban) applied pragmatically in a real-world setting.
Basic familiarity with cloud or infrastructure concepts; comfort discussing environments, deployment steps, rollback plans, and post-launch operations.
English proficiency (written and verbal) and reliable overlap with North American time zones.

Nice-to-Have

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure: migrations, infrastructure work, or modernization projects.
Familiarity with Azure fundamentals: environments, networking basics, identity (Entra), governance (policies/tags), and monitoring handoff.
Certifications: PMP, PSM/CSM, or similar.
Exposure to FinOps basics (budgets, tagging, right-sizing) and simple portfolio reporting.
Experience supporting Marketplace/co-sell readiness or light compliance checklists (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
Comfort assisting with release coordination alongside GitHub or Azure DevOps pipelines.
