Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools invites applications for a full-time, out-of-scope Information Technology - System Analyst Lead. The successful applicant will work with a modernized technology team that recently completed a repositioning restructure.

Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools is Saskatchewan\xe2\x80\x99s largest Catholic school division located on Treaty 6 Territory and the Homeland of the M\xc3\xa9tis. Our dynamic and growing school division currently employs approximately 2,200 full and part-time teaching, support and service staff. It is our privilege to serve more than 22,000 students in seven high schools and 43 elementary schools located in Saskatoon, Humboldt, Biggar, Warman and Martensville. As well, we co-manage Humboldt Collegiate Institute with Horizon School Division. Position Overview:
The System Analyst will be at the forefront of the technical initiatives. Reporting to an Assistant Manager of Information Technology and the Chief Information Officer, the successful candidate will spearhead the operational and developmental aspects of our school division\'s data-related technical infrastructure. The role will encompass designing and implementing cutting-edge computer programs, leading the creation of innovative database solutions, and establishing crucial system controls and protocols. The successful candidate will be a mentor to and guide a team of dedicated System Programmers and Analysts.

Work location is at the GSCS Service Centre at 1402 Fletcher Road, though occasional travel to the administrative buildings (located in Saskatoon) and schools (some located out of town) is required. A valid Saskatchewan driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and a safe, reliable, licensed, and insured vehicle are also required.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Operate and optimize the technical infrastructure of the school division\'s data systems
  • Lead the conception, modification, and application of computer programs to drive divisional objectives
  • Champion the design and implementation of impactful database solutions
  • Provide strategic recommendations for system controls and protocols
  • Shape IT budgetary decisions, focusing on IT infrastructure encompassing both on-premises and cloud-hosted solutions
  • Mentor, supervise, and inspire System Programmers and Analysts to achieve excellence
  • Conduct in-depth research to identify optimal solutions, making well-founded recommendations
  • Analyze existing IT systems and business models, pinpointing requirements for enhancement
  • Skillfully map and meticulously document interfaces between various Student Information Systems
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in computer science or a related field
  • Professional or technical certification
  • Proven experience in programming interfaces between programs
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies
  • Strong analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail
  • Minimum of five years of successful experience in relevant roles
Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MS SQL, C#, PowerShell, HTML/JavaScript, PHP and Python
Preference may be given to candidates with:
  • Experience within the Pre-K \xe2\x80\x93 12 Education Sector
  • Familiarity with Education-specific software/programs
