Position Summary
As an IT Instructor, you'll bring technology to life in the classroom! You'll deliver engaging, high-quality instruction using a variety of teaching methods designed to match different learning styles--all in a supportive and interactive learning environment. Whether you're guiding students through programming fundamentals, cybersecurity concepts, or hands-on troubleshooting, you'll be at the heart of their learning journey. You'll also be responsible for daily attendance, evaluating assignments and exams, and most importantly, inspiring the next generation of tech talent.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and comprehensive instruction in accordance with the Information technology Associate and Software labs.
Prepare lesson plans, learning materials and assessments
Support and guide students in both theoretical and practical learning
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress and evaluations
Promote a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
Required:
Degree/Diploma in Information Technology, Computer
Six years of combined education and work experience in the Information Technology field
Relevant industry experience and knowledge of:
CompTIA certification such as A+, Network+ and Security+ or equivalent
Computer and network hardware support including printers, network equipment and computer system repair
Microsoft platforms such as Azure, SharePoint, Exchange and Microsoft 365 Administrator
Microsoft Windows, Office 365, OneDrive, and Teams
Computer security including firewalls, antivirus, other cyber security tools and threats
Cisco Routers and network equipment
Linux operating systems
Basic AI concepts
Cloud infrastructure and concepts
Project Management in the IT industry
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Strong organizational and time management abilities
Passion for adult education and student mentorship
Previous teaching experience an asset
Experience with Cengage Online Learning Platforms, Brightspace and XtremeLabs is an asset
