CanOps is seeking an Information Technology Application Analyst for the Provincial Emergency Communications Center with experience in the Public Safety sector. The position will be office based. This is a permanent fulltime position out of our Prince Albert location.

The Application Analyst works directly with the Technical Services Manager to monitor and maintain enterprise direction regarding Branch system functionality and services. The Application Analyst will design, implement and support software solutions based on needs expressed by internal and external users, and other stakeholders. The Application Analyst ensures that the data, applications and software systems used in the emergency response system are maintained according to public safety standards.

Responsibilities:



Assist in the design, implementation and support of the enterprise applications within the operating environments of both corporate and emergency communications centre in Canadian Public Safety Operations Organization (CanOps), as well as Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) to ensure current policies match operational guidelines. Act as second level system application support for software systems, aiding Technical Services with application support issues. Participate in a tiered helpdesk support model. Help assess current technological trends and determine organization/agency needs in order to lead the ongoing introduction of new technology and processes; and provide local application support and expertise when needed. Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with associated agencies, contractors, consultants and vendors. Perform configuration updates and changes to applications and systems based on operational needs. Design, develop and support in-house applications and databases used to support specific needs within the work-units. Aid in the design, support and implementation of Hexagon and Versaterm Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) modules or systems. Create and update documentation to ensure they are up to date and accurate. Aid other team members in the management and implementation of projects. Assist all system users and clients with training. Ensure operational readiness of all Application Development related systems and services including remote user functionality while on duty and taking appropriate action to maintain this status. Assist management by attending meetings, conferences and other activities related to the effective operation of all relevant operational environments. Act as first level application support in the event of unscheduled absences. Maintain safe work areas: organizing and managing space effectively. Aid in the design & support of RMS environments from Versaterm and Central Square. Other duties as assigned

Requirements:



A Diploma or certificate in a related Information Technology field and five years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Working knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite, IP Networking, Windows Server platforms Visual Studio, C #, JavaScript, .NET, PowerShell Good working knowledge of MS-SQL Server. Experience working with modern scripting and development toolsets.

Schedule:



The Application Analyst works 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, and makes themselves available as necessary to fulfill their mandate. The Application Analyst may participate in the after-hours on call rotation from time to time depending on project or implementation needs. On-call needs may be reviewed at a future date, at that time a more formal on-call rotation may be recommended.

The Application Analyst may be required to work outside regular business hours to attend staff meetings, emergencies or other functions as required and or directed by their supervisor.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $86,542.04-$104,174.20 per year
