With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.Port Colborne is home to our Nickel Refinery where raw materials from our Sudbury operations are processed into electrocobalt and precious metals and serves as a distribution centre for finished nickel products.The OpportunityWe are currently seeking an IT Analyst to join our Technology team in Sudbury. This is a permanent position.In this role, the incumbent will provide governance and application development of PIMS services for new solutions and capabilities, as necessary to role. Support the sustainability of the PI ecosystem. Maintain alignment with technology architecture, cyber and information security standards. Drive continuous process, service, and technology improvements.Additionally, in this position you will:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of enhancements to the PI system, including data collection, storage, and retrieval processes.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including operations, engineering, and management teams to understand their data needs and provide timely and accurate reports, dashboards, and analysis to meet business requirements.
• Continuously evaluate the performance and efficiency of the PI system, propose, and implement optimizations, and leverage advanced features and functionalities to maximize the systems potential.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless integration of PI with other enterprise systems. Provide training and support to end users on utilizing the system effectively and leveraging its capabilities.
• Provide technical application development and expertise using PI solutions.
• Participate in project implementations.
• Manage day-to-day operational tasks, including the management of risks, issues and enhancements.
• Responsible for the completion of other related tasks and deliverables, as assigned and required by Vale from time to time.

About YouEducation:

• College Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6 - 18 months of relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in OSISoft technologies - Business Requirements, PI Admin, PI AF, PI Analytics and Notifications, SDK, OLEDB, ProcessBook, Datalink, Web Services, PI Vision with specific job experience in developing applications for the process environment.
• Intimate knowledge of PI AF with demonstrated experience of 1-2 large implementations.

Skills:

• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting data collection interfaces.
• Experience in identification of technology solutions, performing system design and building development estimates.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, schedule and lead projects.
• Knowledge of Application Development (Mobile,PC,Web) using these or similar technologies:

• C#, VB .NET
• JavaScript / JQuery
• Microsoft Power BI
• SharePoint
• MS SQL Server
• HTML5
• Knowledge of Process Control (DCS, SCADA & PLC) systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of Advanced Analytics tool sets (for example SPSS, Python, R, Matlab, etc.) is an asset.
• Knowledge of Industrial Internet of Things solutions is an asset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications in OSIsoft PI administration, PI Asset Framework, or other relevant areas are an asset.
