About us:





The Student Information Systems (SIS) group is a team within the Chief Information Officer's (CIO) Division. The SIS team manages enterprise-level student, curricular and administrative applications in support of the student lifecycle and associated capabilities. This includes administration and continued development of the Repository of Student Information (ROSI), the University's Student Information System, along with various vendor-supported andspecialized web applications in the areas of degree, program and course governance and administration, course and exam offering and syllabus management, academic advising, accommodated test management, timetable management, amongst other capabilities.



Your opportunity:





Under the general direction of the Student Information Systems (SIS) Manager, Products and Applications, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering transformational technology solutions to the University. Through your efforts in this position, you will directly help improve the University's administrative management and student systems. You will work in cross-functional teams with developers, analysts, designers and stakeholders on existing and new products using established methodologies, including Agile development processes. You will participate in all stages of the product life cycle including design, development, testing, implementation andsupport and be engaged with requirements gathering and gap analysis. Specifically, you will be involved in the continuing development of the Accommodated Testing Services (ATS) platform, implementation of existing and new functionality, and support for functionality already in production. You will also be involved in implementation of the Accessibility Services (AS) platform. You will work closely with managers, senior stakeholders and team leads in managing project and development priorities, development sprints and the product road map. You may be involved in work with associated systems in the Student Information Systems group.



Your responsibilities will include:





Analyzing and documenting business requirements Developing and implementing application and/or system testing plans and scenarios Troubleshooting issues uncovered by testing or user feedback Writing system feature documentation Responding to service requests in a timely fashion Ensuring system changes are consistent with business processes Assessing needs and contributing to the development of business systems Evaluating new technologies or new and modified businesses processes to determineenhancement requirements

Essential Qualifications:





Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Minimum five years working in post secondary education, preferably in Information Technology or in support of teaching and learning. Minimum five years working with or supporting enterprise level student information or curriculum support systems. Minimum five years experience in business or systems analysis practicesincluding requirements gathering and analysis, gap analysis, process analysis, and creating implementation plans. Demonstrated experience supporting users of business applications. Experience in training users and producing system and user documentation. Experience working in cross functional development and implementation teams including developers, user experience designers, business analysts and business owners/stakeholders. Experience with Accommodated Testing Servicesand accommodation needs of students'. Experience with ROSI is required. Strong communication skills; able to present requirements, concepts and procedures to a diverse audience. Strong written communication skills. Demonstrated superior client service skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret business requirements and articulate them into models and concepts. Strong problem solving skills. Understanding of course enrolment and course management and delivery processes, including management of tests, exams and other assessments.

Assets (Nonessential):





Familiarity with Sharepoint. Familiarity with Service Now or other service support and ticketing applications. Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops or other project and task management applications. Familiarity with Agile development practices. Understanding of the evolving nature of higher education. Experience in writing and executing queries in sql. Experience in data analysis.

USW Pay Band 14 - $90,056. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $115,169. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
