is the first point of contact for community members accessing the NS Works Centre in Windsor. The IRS plays a vital role in ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment while providing information about our services, conducting client triage and intake, and assisting with job search activities such as resume and cover letter support.
The position also involves promoting community resources, connecting clients with appropriate programs, and educating clients on the NS Works online digital channel. In addition, the IRS may participate in outreach, virtual services, workshops, and special projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Client Service
Greet and triage clients, determining appropriate service pathways (self-serve or case managed).
Provide orientation to NS Works services and community resources.
Assist clients with resumes, cover letters, and job search tools.
Complete client intakes and schedule appointments with Case Managers.
Support clients using front-end computers and digital job search resources.
Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible front-line environment.
Employer Service
Explain available employer supports including job fairs, recruitment assistance, and workplace diversity resources.
Refer employers to the Employer Engagement Specialist when appropriate.
Administrative
Maintain accurate and timely data entry in LaMPSS and internal systems.
Assist with social media updates and promotional materials (as approved by the Operations Manager).
Register clients for workshops and events.
Submit reports and maintain client service records.
Contribute to outreach and awareness activities that strengthen community engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a social services-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of community resources and employment supports.
Demonstrated experience in resume and cover letter development.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and accessibility in service delivery.
Experience supporting marginalized populations, including persons with disabilities, newcomers, African Nova Scotians, Indigenous Peoples, and LGBTQ+ community members.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using online job search and digital tools.
Bilingual ability (English/French) considered an asset.
Clear Criminal Records Check required.
