Diagnose diseases and physiological disorders May conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods Prescribe medication and treatment Treat diseases and physiological disorders Conduct microscopic and chemical analyses of laboratory samples and specimens Prepare research papers for publication and presentation Act as consultants to other physicians Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures Advise patients on health care Record and process patient data Prepare a treatment plan for each patient Implement treatment plans Conduct research in field of specialization Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories Perform and assist in routine surgery Work in a multidisciplinary environment Plan patient care Examine the patient Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team
