ABOUT THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive, the Infection Control Nurse is a Registered Nurse whose primary responsibility is the organization's infection prevention and control program (IPAC).
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registration
5 years of current experience as a Registered Nurse
Education and experience in IPAC practices
ASSETS:
Current certification in Infection Control from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology
Completion of an Infection Control training program
Excellent attendance record
Bilingual
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to practice with cultural safety and sensitivity
Ability to use sound judgement to handle all (including sensitive and/or complex) issues in a timely manner with consideration to risk management, safety and confidentiality
Ability to develop and manage the IPAC program
Ability to develop and implement tracking of outbreak & infectious disease surveillance data
Ability to develop and deliver effective training
Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team for the delivery of IPAC protocols
Ability to provide regular reports to stakeholders on progress toward goals and key quality indicators to support transparency and informed decision-making
Advanced computer skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
SALARY RANGE:
$40.24 - $57.68 PER HOUR
