Position Summary



Reporting to the Associate Dean (AD), Department of Industry Training, the Industry Training Coordinator is a key driver in the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Faculty of Lifelong Learning and Industry Training's (LLIT) revenue-generating programs and services. The incumbent plays a central role in developing customized, employer-focused training solutions that respond to evolving labour market needs - ranging from full programs to short courses, micro-credentials, and specialized learning modules. The position leads the full lifecycle of industry training initiatives. This role requires cultivating and sustaining strategic relationships with industry partners and community stakeholders. The Industry Training Coordinator leads multiple, concurrent training projects, often with non-traditional schedules and delivery models. Through collaboration, innovation, and a deep understanding of adult and workplace learning principles, the incumbent ensures LLIT's industry training portfolio delivers measurable results for learners, employers, and the CollegeEnter position summary details in this section.


Responsibilities



Coordinates industry training projects and timelines, gathering and analyzing data, supports the Associate Dean with information required for proposals, and assists in the completion of tasks to ensure industry training is delivered on time and meets quality standards. Serves as a primary contact between Faculty areas, industry partners, and internal service departments to coordinate program delivery, ensuring alignment with partner requirements. Plans and coordinates all aspects of industry training programs and course delivery. Collects, reviews, and analyzes data related to registration numbers, historical enrolment, and retention trends to help determine program and course viability; adjusts offerings in consultation with others to support industry training volumes and efficiencies; and prepares reports, briefing notes, and recommendations. Researches and reviews future trends that may influence industry training needs. Conducts competitive analysis to assess the industry training landscape, benchmark competitor offerings, and identify opportunities for new or updated programming. Coordinates outreach activities to promote LLIT's industry training offerings. Prepares and updates departmental and divisional processes. Provides guidance and support to facilitators and external partners when learner issues arise. Coordinates the invoicing to partners and the scheduling of facilitators, rooms, and resources to ensure smooth program delivery. Monitors participant feedback during and after training to help identify areas for improvement. Maintains communication with clients and internal teams to ensure service levels and contractual obligations are met. Identifies and addresses barriers that may impact learner success, recommending practical solutions to improve the learning experience. Recommends and implements operational adjustments to increase industry responsiveness, improve training efficiency, and enhance client and stakeholder satisfaction. Engages proactively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain ongoing relationships and explore opportunities to generate new activity and revenue, Creates and communicates accurate and timely advice and information about policies, procedures, practices, and priorities internally to other service and academic departments, and externally to community and provincial partners. Supports the AD with bi-annual Industry Training Advisor Committee meetings and participates in internal and external activities and events, such as conferences, presentations, partner events, facilitator PD, information nights, open houses in relation to their role. Trains new facilitators and provides guidance/advice to existing facilitators (internal faculty and contractors) on LLIT and College policies and practices using a variety of targeted communication and training strategies, including facilitator expectations, LMS tools and use, learning technologies, Banner and OL portal/grades portal, and student engagement and retention.

Qualifications/Experience



A minimum of a three-year diploma/degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field; or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Coursework or training in Adult Learning, eLearning, Instructional Design, or related is an asset. A minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting, developing, and coordinating programs/projects. Proven project coordination, planning, logistics, and implementation experience including previous experience leading or coordinating program/project teams, monitoring resources and progress, and maintaining stakeholder involvement and communications. Experience building and maintaining industry relationships including demonstrated experience in developing and implementing outreach strategies to build industry relationships and partnerships. Experience and knowledge of online teaching and learning technologies (LMS, e-portfolio, Padlet, H5P), with strong preference for previous experience in an adult learning/training, post-secondary, or other educational setting. Ability to organize complex information and data (including financial figures), as well as demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, written, and spoken communication skills, with confidence presenting to small or large groups of clients and/or stakeholders. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Proven administrative skills and attention to detail required for developing and maintaining departmental processes, records, and other documentation. Self-directed and flexible with high initiative and ability to work independently, respond effectively to change, and produce high quality results in an environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
