The Industry Relations Manager is responsible for driving the adoption of GS1 Canada Standards and Industry Managed Solutions (IMS) within their assigned Tier 1 Data Provider accounts. This role plays a vital part in achieving widespread adoption of IMS to meet the needs of both Data Providers and Data Recipients.

The Manager works closely with subscribers in their portfolio, building relationships and providing guidance to support the implementation of IMS aligned with the requirements of their trading partners. By doing so, they help ensure data integrity and alignment across the supply chain.

Success in this role is measured by key performance indicators such as cost recovery, subscriber engagement, service adoption, retention, campaign effectiveness, and timely CRM updates.###

Key Responsibilities





Develop and maintain trusted, strategic relationships with each TIER 1 subscriber in your assigned portfolio. Ensure relationships are established and maintained across all departments within the subscriber's organization, for both standards and Industry Managed Services (IMS). Super serve and educate subscribers to ensure a full understanding of GS1 Canada's value across multiple sectors and industry standards. Conduct regular Business Reviews with all assigned subscribers to ensure they understand and comply with their Trading Partners' IMS requirements. Build and maintain relationships with specific business process users to effectively promote, support, and implement identified IMS required by their Trading Partners. Collaborate across departments to achieve multi-sector and board-level deliverables. Drive education and engagement in current and future IMS offerings, including (but not limited to): New Item Setup, Marketing Content, eCommerce Content, Pharmaceutical Content, Shelf Management Content, Enhanced Assets, and Product Recall. Educate subscribers on GS1 Canada standards and IMS, including their value, pricing, and interdependencies. Address objections effectively to help achieve cost recovery targets. Retain existing IMS subscriptions for your assigned Data Providers. Gather and relay feedback from subscribers regarding potential service enhancements to the appropriate internal teams. Leverage internal tools, such as the Power BI Dashboard, to drive IMS adoption and meet cost-recovery goals and deliverables. Support subscriber participation in GS1 Canada Work Groups, as needed. Participate in quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for new or updated IMS offerings. Participate in Special projects as assigned Support Senior Industry Relations Managers with the development of Industry Relations Advisors. Support subscriber board accounts when required.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise





Position Requirements



Completion of a university degree in a related field preferred (i.e. B. Comm., Marketing etc.) Minimum 3 to 5 year's experience in a sales account management role or business development capacity, preferably within an associated industry (i.e.: Retail, Foodservice, Pharma, Distribution, etc.)

Critical Competencies

Strong analytical skills, proficiency in collecting, interpreting, and using data to support decisions and improve processes. High level of proficiency using MS Office skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Technical proficiency in CRM software and best practices. Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking, with the ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions. Industry specific knowledge and understanding of products and services provided by GS1 Canada. Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and effectively. Project Management skills an asset. Innovation and Creativity - Ability to generate new ideas, approaches, or solutions to improve efficiency, products, or services. Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multiple stakeholder groups Demonstrable experience in working autonomously and effectively while in the GS1 Canada office and telecommuting. Entrepreneurial spirit suited for fast-paced, ever-changing environment with flexibility to changing needs. Bilingualism (English / French) considered an asset, as this position involves frequent communication with stakeholders and partners across Canada, including provinces where English is the primary language. Must be available to travel when required to meet with subscribers, support Trade Shows & Industry Events (5-10%).
