Job Description

Under the direct supervision of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Industrial Sewer operates industrial sewing machines to join, gather, hem, or reinforce materials. This role is responsible for meeting quality standards and contributing to the achievement of Shaver's manufacturing goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate industrial sewing machines to sew various fabric components in sequence. Perform top stitching, double stitching, and other specialized sewing techniques. Select appropriate threads, fabrics, and sewing supplies based on work orders and specifications. Follow Product Guides and interpret work orders, including written, oral, and scheduled instructions. Set up and operate sewing machines, guiding parts under the needle using edges, seams, machine guides, or part markings. Sew according to Production Samples and Product Guides, inspecting stitching for defects. Report any defects caused by machine malfunction or operator error to the Manufacturing Supervisor. Cut excess thread or material and perform routine maintenance such as oiling machines. Maintain a clean and organized workstation and ensure raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods are stored neatly. Inspect products during production to ensure adherence to quality standards. Construct products as specified by work orders, samples, Product Guides, and patterns. Collaborate with team members and coordinate equipment sharing as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by manufacturing management.

Qualifications:

Proven experience in industrial sewing, including operation of industrial sewing machines. Experience with heavy stitching is an asset. Preferably more than 2 years. Ability to read and follow detailed instructions from Product Guides and work orders. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Hours of work are Monday to Thursday from 6:30 to 4:00PM and Friday from 7:00AM to 11:00AM.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
