Industrial Sewing Machine Operator

About the role:

This full-time sewing opportunity is instrumental in our ability to deliver custom-quality apparel to our athletes and customers. The primary responsibility is to ensure high-quality stitching with a variety of textiles and fabrics to meet production deadlines and customer expectations. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, creative individual who prides themselves on their sewing ability, their sound understanding of patterns, construction and quality. The individual can deliver results with minimum direction. They love the thrill of being an integral part of the design team, creating and building products for a world-class brand. Responsibilities:

Sew sample garments such as assembled shirts, pants and outerwear for the purpose of product development and customer orders from scratch, based on drawings and specifications provided Sew custom orders from customers and athletes Complete minor repairs for warrantee items Assist with troubleshooting on design and fit issues Assist with some fabric cutting from time to time as needed for samples. Use a variety of sewing machines and hand iron to complete the task

Qualifications & Competencies:

8+ years of sewing experience is required Must have experience with industrial flat machine, serger, double needle and flatlock/cover stitch machines Demonstrated ability to assemble garments in sample sewing Demonstrated ability to sew a complete garment with industrial machines Demonstrated ability to sew with different types of fabric Some product knowledge or prior experience with outdoor apparel is an asset Exceptional fine motor skills and manual dexterity are required to manipulate all types of fabrics from heavy canvas to rubber and lightweight jersey materials. Self-motivated - enjoys making garments Works well in a team environment and/or independently Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to read, write and speak English
