WE OFFER SIGNING BONUSES FOR MANY HOURLY POSITIONS THE ROLE: Maintain safe and secure environments for customers and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. As a security guard for Backwoods you would complete patrols and protect assigned property. You would promote and enforce safety, as our guards act as a visible deterrent against irregular activity.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by patrolling and monitoring premises
• Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment, and access points
• Access control: Permit authorized persons entry to site when required, administrative and technology responsibilities when applicable
• Working on an industrial site for a industrial site shutdown
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform violators of policy and procedures; restrain if necessary
• Control traffic by directing drivers
• Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Daily Occurrence Reports (DOR’s) and Incident Reports (IR’s) when required
• Inspect Backwoods vehicles, notify Field Manager when service is required
• Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
• Arrive for your shift on time. If you know you will be unable to fulfill your duties, you must communicate with the On-Call Supervisor ahead of time
• Able to work efficiently and effectively as part of a team

WHERE YOU’LL BE WORKING:

• Work for this position will be indoors or outdoors depending on the posting
• Adhere to all company office policies and safety procedures
• Adhere to all site policies and safety procedures
• Shifts are generally 12 hours per day; 14 on 14 off rotation; Hours of Work Averaging Agreement in place.
• Overtime and weekend work may be required
• Accommodation and meals provided
• Travel pay included with each successful rotation
• Overtime pay per Alberta Employment Standards is available for this position

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 1-2 Years of Industrial Security Experience
• Alberta Security Guard License
• Following certifications required: First Aid Level C; CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015
• Site orientations completed prior to going to site
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean 3-Year Personal Driver’s Abstract
• Objectivity, emotional control, and dependability
• Able to follow complex instructions, both written and verbal
• Knowledgeable about security operations and procedures
• Knowledgeable about technology, can use different software and multi-task
• Successful applicants for this position will be fully vaccinated per site requirement
• Drug and Alcohol pre-access test required by site for this position
