MacKinnon & Olding has an immediate need for Scaffolders to join its team in Nova Scotia. This position is Monday-Friday (weekends as needed).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
What you will do
Erect, inspect, repair, dismantle, maintain and identify system, tube, and clamp scaffolds
Design scaffolds to site requirements and material specifications in accordance with company guidelines
Monitor levels in scaffolding structures to ensure stability
Ensure fall protection methods are available, adequate, and maintained on scaffold assemblies
Undertake discipline work scopes as required
Adopt safe working practices and promote safety awareness
Assess the type and location of scaffold required to follow the self-certification and inspection check
Ensure that all scaffolds are built, inspected, and dismantled in accordance with MacKinnon & Olding scaffold procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
Your background
Nova Scotia Fall Protection
Nova Scotia Confined Space Entry
Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS 2015)
Experience with erection of system, tube, and clamp scaffolding
Must be living in Nova Scotia and part of the local trade union
All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance.
