Job Description


Crosbie provides multi-discipline fabric maintenance support services and deck services to the Offshore Oil and Gas Industry. Our scope of services includes: scaffolding, coatings, insulation, passive fire and blast protection, composite pipe repair, positive pressure habitats, industrial cleaning, deck and crane operations, radio operations and rigging and slinging. We have an immediate need for Industrial Riggers for the producing platforms offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. Start date as soon as possible. Responsibilities:

  • Perform rigging operations for platform maintenance and operational departments
  • Inspect all equipment used in the lifting process including slings, cables, shackles and chains
  • Ensure all rigging equipment issued is suitable for intended use
  • Interpret and use hand signals and voice to communicate with coworkers
  • Recognize, attach and use appropriate cables, pulleys, wires, straps and chains
  • Undertake discipline work scopes as required
  • Adopt safe working practices and promote safety awareness.
Qualifications: Possess the following valid certificates:
  • Journeyperson Ironworker, Millwright, Boil Maker Certification, or equivalent
  • Stage 2 Advanced Rigging
  • Experience with rigging operation theory and practice
  • Knowledge of safe use of rigging equipment
  • Ability to work productively in adverse conditions
  • Demonstrated safety leadership
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral)
  • Basic Survival Training (BST)
  • H2S Alive (Enform)
  • Workplace NL Fall Protection
  • Workplace NL Confined Space Entry Level 2
  • Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS)
  • Advanced Marine or Standard First Aid
