Reporting to the Director of Warehousing and Logistics your role as an
INDUSTRIAL MILLWRIGHT
includes responsibility for the maintenance, repair and installation of all processing equipment, and ultimately for improving the reliability, output, quality and safety of all equipment related to production and facilities.
Responsibilities
Maintain and service all machinery including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation control systems.
Respond with a sense of urgency to equipment when equipment is down or not running properly to troubleshoot, problem solve and fix the issues to minimize disruptions to production.
Install and commission new equipment.
Schedule, complete, document and support preventative maintenance activities.
Assist in the design and building of prototype equipment required for new products under development.
Perform facilities maintenance as required.
Qualities
Ability to develop a deep understanding of a machine's operation so that problems can be quickly solved.
Ability to test, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues with various machine components.
Urgency in responding to machinery breakdowns.
Desire to make things run better, not just to keep things running.
Positive, constructive attitude and an ability to develop strong relationships with Supervisors, co-workers and Plant Employees.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, work with others and meet goals.
Knowledge of industrial safety requirements and workplace practices.
Ability to maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
Qualifications
Licensed Industrial Millwright (433A)
Minimum 3 years of experience in the maintenance of automated production equipment in an industrial environment. Experience with web processes is an asset.
Solid knowledge and background of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation control systems.
A valid provincial Industrial Electrician license (309A) is an asset.
Normal shift hours
Monday - Friday, start time 2:30pm - 11:00pm. Normal paid time is 40 hours per week.
Occasionally additional work hours are needed in the event of a machine breakdown or a tight deadline.
