Job Description

Position requires flexibility to be able to work morning, afternoon and evening/night shifts.

Training will occur on day shift prior to moving to permanent shift.

5 shifts per week at 8 hours per shift. (Monday to Friday), extra shifts as required.

Evening/Night shift pays an additional $0.75 per hour premium.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure safety and food-safety by following all company, OH&S, and government rules and procedures including; lockout/Tagout procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, personal safety, and food safety/SAF Program standards Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime Troubleshoot, diagnose and develop sustainable solutions for issues with equipment include; PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic and mechanical systems including motors, instrumentation, distribution and feed control systems Complete all assigned work orders within the time alloted Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work order and detailed logs; Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed Identify required parts and maintain current inventories Act with a Continuous Improvement mindset seeking areas of opportunity for improvement and participating in cross-functional CI focused projects Repair sinks, hoses, water lines, toilets, and plumbing equipment Complete all building repairs, maintain walls, ceilings and floors in good repair Contact contractors when needed for maintenance or repair of mechanical or electrical system needs Assist with installation of new equipment Performs other required tasks as assigned. Communication skills, both verbal and written in English General housekeeping tasks Working as a team and independently Working closely with other departments Able to work Monday to Friday with no restrictions if schedule changes Own transportation Criminal background check upon request. The Maintenance Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by performing regular maintenance tasks and addressing any issues that arise. The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail, be able to prioritize tasks effectively, and possess excellent problem-solving abilities.
