Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the OpportunityThe Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project is an initiative to realign care and services from the aging Victoria and Centennial buildings on the Victoria General Site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. It is not just about infrastructure, but how the services should be delivered for the people of Nova Scotia over the next 20-30 years. It includes multiple sub-projects including renovations and new construction. As part of this work, the QEII Health Sciences Centre\'s tertiary, quaternary care and research and academic mandates all need to be addressed in the planning, design and construction phases.These complex, multi-site, multi-project, and multi-phased nature of the overall project combines to create a situation in which effective engagement, strong planning, thorough operational readiness planning and strong transition management are very important activities to mitigate many types of risk.Reporting to the Director, Clinical Planning - Halifax Infirmary Expansion Project, the Industrial Engineer provides leadership to care and service teams to minimize the impact and maximize the benefits of the project by researching, designing, developing and evaluating effective and efficient solutions to process and system design challenges involving patients, physicians, staff, equipment, technology and organizational structure. Expertise in the performance improvement methodologies, project management and change management techniques applied to solving complex problems is at the core of the Industrial Engineers\' role. In addition to design, these skills will be fully utilized in managing projects through implementation to full operational capability.By facilitating conversations that inspire critical, innovative thinking and yield valuable business/operational insights, the industrial engineer supports operational leaders in identifying strategic improvement opportunities, informing optimal design and equipment/technology selections, and identifying/managing impacts of changes presented by redevelopment initiatives.About YouWe would love to hear from you if you have the following:
