Bevo Farms Ltd operates three sites in the lower mainland of British Columbia and two facilities in the province of Alberta.
SUMMARY
Bevo Farms Ltd. is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support the electrical infrastructure of our large-scale, highly automated greenhouse operation. This role ensures the continuous and safe operation of complex electrical systems that drive our growing, irrigation, environmental control, and production processes.
The ideal candidate brings strong industrial electrical experience, a proactive mindset, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues in a fast-moving agricultural environment. This position is based in Langley, BC and reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Electrical Maintenance & Repair
Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on greenhouse electrical systems, including motors, drives, panels, distribution systems, sensors, lighting, and automation wiring.
Maintain and repair electrical components of HVAC, irrigation, conveyor, seeding, and environmental control equipment.
Ensure all electrical work meets applicable codes and safety standards.
Troubleshooting
Rapidly diagnose electrical faults to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, sensors, relays, VFDs, and integrated automated equipment.
Use electrical testing tools and diagnostic software to isolate and correct issues.
System Calibration & Optimization
Calibrate electrical sensors, environmental monitoring devices, and control components to ensure accurate performance.
Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and efficiency.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including repairs, adjustments, inspections, and parts replaced.
Assist in developing and updating electrical schematics and maintenance logs.
Collaboration & Support
Work closely with growers, production staff, and operations teams to ensure electrical systems meet operational demands.
Support cross-training initiatives within the maintenance team.
Safety & Compliance
Follow strict electrical safety protocols and lockout/tagout procedures.
Identify electrical hazards, implement corrective actions, and contribute to a safe workplace culture.
Ensure compliance with all provincial electrical codes and company standards.
Other Duties as Required
Support general maintenance tasks when necessary to ensure continuous greenhouse operations.
Participate in rotating on-call coverage to respond to emergency issues after hours.
SKILLS
Electrical Expertise
Strong proficiency in industrial electrical systems, including troubleshooting, motor control, VFDs, sensors, and automated equipment.
Familiarity with PLCs, low-voltage control circuits, and industrial communication networks is an asset.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Experience in Automated Systems
Minimum three years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, food processing, or automation environments.
Experience working on conveyor systems, pumps, motors, and climate-control equipment.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
Strong ability to analyze faults and determine root causes quickly.
Capable of working efficiently under pressure during urgent repairs.
Team-Oriented
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Willingness to share knowledge, cross-train with peers, and contribute to a cohesive maintenance team.
Safety-Oriented
Solid understanding of electrical safety practices and occupational health and safety standards.
EDUCATION
Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Journeyman Electrician (Red Seal preferred) or equivalent industrial electrical certification.
Preferred
Additional training in automation, PLCs, or industrial controls.
Certifications related to workplace safety (e.g., Fall Protection, Confined Space, WHMIS).
SALARY
$85,000-$105,000 CAD annual base salary
