The Opportunity
Our Mainline/TQM Operations Group is currently seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our Maple & Niagara Area team based in Ancaster, Ontario.
Reporting to the Area Manager, Maple & Niagara, this individual will operate and maintain natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment (including assigned electronic, electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical control systems, devices, and ancillary equipment gas turbines, generators, boilers, fuel gas compressors, and PLC & DCS control systems) in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will also be required to perform tasks from other disciplines.
The regular work schedule for this position will be:Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; Friday off
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; 8 hours on Friday
What you'll doPerform installation, testing, repair, and maintenance on compressor station equipment, and other facilities relevant to the pipeline system as required
Conduct routine regular maintenance on gas turbine packages, gas compressor units and associated auxiliary equipment
Maintenance and troubleshooting of MCC's and low voltage switch gear
Troubleshoot, test, & maintain shutdown devices, fire & gas detection systems, auxiliary systems, HVAC systems, relief and Over Pressure Protection devices, control valves, PLC's & control systems
Install & configure software in control systems
Perform emergency repairs to meet customer and client needs
Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TC Energy's Community, Safety and Environment policies and procedures as well as accepted risk standards
Lead/manage the safe and efficient completion of low/medium complexity projects including the coordination and monitoring of contractor work activities or third-party active control
Complete all administrative functions related to position and duties
Maintain core operational task qualifications
Working in a Team environment
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma, plus minimum completion of a second year of trades program or 2 years of technical training
2 years of related Industry experience
Proven excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
Eager willingness to learn evolving technology
Preferred QualificationsJourneyman Electrician certification or,
Journeyman Instrumentation certification or,
Journeyman Industrial Electrician certification or,
Journeyman instrumentation Certification
5 years of years of related Industry experience
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and SAP experience
Previous experience with high pressure natural gas
Previous experience with industrial gas turbines or Aviation Turbines
A solid understanding of PLC systems for troubleshooting purposes
This position requires candidates to:Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review
Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (estimated up 15% of work schedule)
Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
