Job Responsibilities
Inspect and verify that all equipment and safety devices are in proper and safe operating condition.
Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
Install, examine, replace, and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components (revise items listed to fit A.B.M.).
Maintain, repair, test and install switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators, reactors, electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems (revise items listed to fit ABM).
Troubleshoot electrical and electronic equipment using test meters and software installed on maintenance laptop for PLC and other equipment.
Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance and set up of machinery. (If applicable)
Troubleshoot and improve performance of equipment using software.
Perform simple tasks on pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
Continually inform on required upgrades/updates to current electronic/electrical systems used to maintain or improve equipment performance.
Report on poor conditions of electrical/electronic equipment/systems prior of failure.
Responsible for updating electrical drawing and replacing any changes to electrical systems.
Always work in a safe manner and install equipment in accordance with current electrical code.
Adhere to all obligations and duties outlined in the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.
Work in compliance with IATF 16949, 5S and all other company policies and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications
Red Seal trade certification required.
Completion of a four- or five-year industrial electrician apprenticeship program, or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college, or industry courses in industrial electrical equipment.
Extensive experience with stamping, presses, welding, and assembly equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC controls.
Well versed in the operation and interaction of robots within a cell structure and their component processes including pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and electronic.
Sound Knowledge working with MIG & Resistance Welding Robotics and PLC's
Programming and troubleshooting of ABB, Panasonic Robots, Allen Bradley PLC's
Provide conclusions and/or potential resolutions for approval and implementation.
Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization including operators, Management, and customers and suppliers if required.
Well versed in and thorough understanding of PHSRs.
Knowledge of fabricating equipment and processes.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
Ability to troubleshoot.
